She founded an organization called “APWA” for women’s rights, the Pakistani army gave her the honor of being the first female brigadier general.

Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan was Pakistan’s first female ambassador to the Netherlands, Italy and Tunisia.

She also did practical politics, she served as a minister in the cabinet of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, later Bhutto appointed her as the first female Governor of Sindh.
