Referring to the controversial posters put up recently in Sambhal, Shukla said they were the result of the Samajwadi party’s “support for Islamic terrorists” and his deputy Shaifur Rehman Barq’s declaration “supporting the Taliban”.

Posters labeling Sambhal as the land of “ghazis,” an apparent reference to Islamic warriors, had appeared ahead of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s meeting earlier this week.

The BJP strongly opposed the posters, after which they were taken down by workers of the All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
