Ballia (UP): Uttar Pradesh Minister Anand Swaroop Shukla said Lord Ram, Krishna and Shiva were the ancestors of Indian Muslims and they should bow to the land and culture of India.
In provocative remarks here, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had overcome the mindset that aimed to create a Islamic State in the country by raising the flag of Hindutva and Indian culture.
Presenting the story of the Adityanath government’s work over the past four and a half years to the media on Thursday evening, Shukla said: The ancestors of the Muslims of India are Lord Ram, Krishna and Shankar (Shiva). They don’t need to see Kaaba country. These people should bow down to the land and culture of India.
After Syria and Afghanistan, some people from different countries want to make the world an Islamic state. Some in India also have this mindset. But, the Modi and Adityanath governments in the Center and in the State raised the flag of Hindutva and “Indian culture” in the country and defeated this mindset, Shukla said.
Referring to the controversial posters posted recently in Sambhal, Shukla said they were the result of the Samajwadi party’s support for Islamic terrorists and its MP Shaifur Rehman Barq’s statement supporting the Taliban.
Posters calling Sambhal the land of ‘ghazis’, an apparent reference to Islamic warriors, had appeared ahead of AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s meeting earlier this week.
The BJP had strongly opposed the posters, after which they were taken down by the workers of All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
Shukla said the ghazis have been completely eradicated from Uttar Pradesh. Such powers cannot raise their heads in the future, he said.
Attacking Owaisi, Shukla said his ancestors wanted to make Hyderabad a separate nation but failed.
“There are still people with such a mentality. They are stupid people. Their ancestors became Muslims out of fear. This type of thinking cannot thrive under the Modi and Adityanath governments,” he said.
