Job readiness includes helping clients to obtain their social security cards, birth certificates and driver's license for employment. The Social Service Worker helps clients to apply for Job Corps in Utah and Montana. Job Corps is for young adult’s ages 16 to 25 years of age. The Job Corps offers a GED or High School diploma and a trade. Trade offerings are different for each Job Corps Center. For more information visit the website at

The Goshute Social Services Worker coordinates services for the client with the State Welfare Offices for Nevada and Utah. The Utah Department of Workforce Service Tooele Office covers the Ibapah and Wendover, Utah area. The Nevada State Welfare Office in Ely, Nevada covers the Ibapah and Wendover, Nevada area. The Social Service Worker helps clients fill out applications for financial, food stamp and medical assistance. The Worker helps the client with contacting the DWS Central Eligibility Service Center and faxing in additional information needed for their applications and reviews.
The Goshute Social Service Worker helps clients apply for Social Security Benefits. The client will need to come in and call for an application for assistance at 1-801-524-4115 which is the Salt Lake City Office. The Nevada Office is in Elko and can be reached at 1-775-777-7738. The Social Service Worker will help the client fill out the application when it is received by the client.
The Social Service Worker will help the client with contacting the Social Security Office and transport the client for their interview. The Social Services Program helps clients with Utah Home Energy Assistance Target Program for help with utility costs in the winter. The applications are available at the Social Service Office. The client will come in and fill out the application and submit the required documents; birth certificates, picture identifications, utility bills and income for the last 30 days. The paperwork is then mailed to the HEAT Office. The Nevada Energy Assistance Program is year round. The applications are in the Social Service Office.
The Utah Food Bank provides food for low income families during the year. There is a Food Drop in Wendover each month. During the Thanksgiving Holidays the Food Bank has assisted the Goshute Reservation with turkeys for the families.
